Trisha works in a marketing capacity as well as scientific capacity for ESI. Her understanding of ecological systems and environmental impacts play an important role in projects with high environmental sensitivity issues. Her frontline experience dealing with the public on highly controversial issues and projects is an additional skill she brings to the company.
Trisha is an Environmental Science graduate from Michigan State University. She has over 7 years of work experience in natural resource land assessment, land exchanges and acquisitions, permitting for prospecting permits and mineral leases, and special project management for several government agencies. Some specific duties included the determination the impact that land transactions would have on the properties and the approach to be taken with the property owner(s) and/or lessee(s). She personally met with property owners and other interested parties to discuss projects involving their property interests and their cooperation.
In a previous capacity, Trisha was the Project Manager for a City Land Department to develop a citywide computerized land inventory system. Her duties included putting together a project team and defining project tasks. She and her team developed a work plan to accomplish the project objectives and she assigned specific tasks to each of the team members, developed a schedule, prepared updates and task charts, and directed the meetings. She participated in the research and collection of the data. She was responsible for any problems that might arise and worked with team members to solve them. She presented the completed project materials and information to the Information Systems Section for implementation.
While Trisha was with the Arizona State Land Department, she supervised interns and support staff. She also supervised and coordinated responsibilities and activities involving land and title exchanges within the Department with Local, State and Federal agencies and private special interest groups. She also was assigned special projects. One project was to develop a low-impact equestrian trail through undeveloped mountainous country owned by several different government agencies. Duties included coordinating, directing and supervising several different government agency employees and private interest group leaders to create the necessary routes, title documents, conservation and other easements and permits needed to complete the trail. We collected and reviewed the environmental and natural resource information such as the impacts the trail would have on the natural habitat, effects on wildlife and livestock, water sources and availability. She was responsible for the title information (including information regarding fee owner, lessee(s) and deed restrictions). She carried out the approved land exchange between the State and Federal governments and secured agreements with the Maricopa and Yavapai County Park Departments to manage, build and maintain the trail.
Trisha has also worked as a private consultant with an environmental firm to collect and analyze data for tropical rainforest reforestation projects. She has reasonable skills in Spanish conversation and reading and has lived 5 years internationally. These experiences have given her the knowledge and awareness to relate to people of different cultures and backgrounds effectively. .
